Tryst

Long black hair to your waist

the aura of the exotic

the mystery of a suppressed smile

until you giggled,

giggled when I touched you,

perhaps from anticipation

or groping through the preliminaries.

I jumped nonetheless

with you laughing nearly to tears

telling me through quaking shoulders

that the mood was not broken.

The first time is never perfect.
